FenCon Expo & Fenwick Ltd. Event Policies & Guidelines

Cosplay is Not Consent

Cosplay is a celebration of fandom—not an invitation for inappropriate behavior. Always ask before taking photos, and respect personal boundaries. We are here to celebrate comics, collectibles, and creativity together in a safe space.

Let’s all work together to make FenCon Expo a fun, inclusive, and respectful event for everyone.

Harassment Policy

FenCon Expo is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone.

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes:

  • Offensive verbal comments (based on race, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, disability, etc.)
  • Intimidation, stalking, or unwanted following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention
  • Disruption of panels or events
  • Display of overly sexual imagery in shared/public spaces

If you are being harassed or witness harassment, report it to any FenCon Staff member immediately.

Weapons & Prop Policy

FenCon Expo is a family-friendly event. The safety of our attendees is our top priority.

Absolutely no functional projectile weapons are permitted, including those carried by individuals with weapons permits or concealed carry licenses. Anyone found in possession of a real firearm or projectile weapon will have their membership revoked and may be reported to local authorities.

Peacebonding Required for All Props

All prop weapons or items that could be mistaken for weapons must be peacebonded before entering the convention space. This includes bladed props, fantasy weapons, and replicas.

  • Visit the Registration Table before entering the event.
  • A government-issued photo ID is required.
  • Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for peacebonding.

Bladed Props

Any metal weapon-shaped prop (swords, daggers, kunai, etc.) with a narrow or pointed edge must:

  • Be kept sheathed at all times.
  • Be able to be zip-tied securely into the sheath.
  • Ribbons, tape, or cloth do not count as proper sheathing.

Gun Props

  • No pointing prop guns at people under any circumstances.
  • Pistols must remain holstered, rifles must be slung.
  • Only permanently disabled cap guns, Nerf guns, or water guns are allowed.

Drawing any weapon-like prop inside the venue or parking areas will result in immediate expulsion. Remember: if your prop looks real, law enforcement may respond as if it is real.

If we can’t tell it’s fake from 10 feet away, don’t bring it.

Footwear Policy

All attendees are required to wear appropriate footwear while inside the event space. This policy is in place for your safety and the safety of others. Approved footwear includes:

  • Shoes
  • Sandals
  • Flip-flops
  • Aqua sox
  • Slippers

Bare feet are not permitted. Unsafe or hazardous footwear that could pose a risk in crowded areas (such as cleats, metal-soled boots, or footwear designed for combat) are not allowed.
